Food Pantry Project
As a community church, we deem it a privilege to offer our social obligations through the provision of a food pantry service. The mission of our food pantry is to reduce hunger locally through direct hunger relief services by working together with the community.
This project is targeted to serve the needy in the community with a variety of highly balanced-diet food items to provide adequate nutrition to families. We obtain our food items primarily from the New York Food Bank and other agencies, including super markets and through individual contributions.
The program takes place at the church premise every Saturday from 2pm to 4pm with an average attendance of 70 community members. We also have plans to expand our social responsibilities to connect clients to other agencies that provide additional social services.
The orphanage project is purported to provide adequate comfortable living to many orphans and less privileged children as God’s word instructs us. This project was birth through the vision God laid on the heart of the Regional Overseer of North America, Apostle Emmanuel Kwame Asamoah (Pastor S. K.), during our corporate 21 days fasting and prayers program in 2014 held in New York.
The overarching goal of this orphanage foundation is to build an orphanage complex in Ghana in honor of the founder of the church, the Late Rev. Francis Akwasi Amoako. This complex will have a multi-purpose hall, school and a playing field. The foundation will also establish an educational scholarship program for brilliant but needy children.
By the grace of God, the foundation through financial contributions from church members and other well-wishers have been able to purchase a piece of land in Konongo, Ghana, where the orphanage complex will be built. The orphanage has also made six shipments of clothes, shoes, school supplies and other related items for sharing among our church branches in Ghana for the orphanage.
